I do not understand what bootloader is referenced in the message. If the unifying receiver is not working, you should check if you have the driver file. The first and foremost step which you should try is installing the unifying.
Sometimes restarting the device will repair the connection. Sometimes after a lag the display will update with all the keystrokes previously entered. Lately either mouse or keyboard or sometimes both, fail to respond. Until recently this has been working flawlessly.
