When I was here, it was very calm and quiet. The tidal prediction for Makapuu Point is just that, a well educated guess based on years of observed data. For this reason, people usually avoid these places during winter time, because there are very strong, huge waves constantly. However, sometimes you have to be careful, becuse the waves can be very strong and push you towards the rocks or soak you in the ocean. Due to a number of recent accidents at the Makapuu Tidepools, visitors who aim to venture down to these tide pools are always warned to be extremely. It has a rich underwater life whith different fish and water plant species. Once you get there, you can relax and swim in it's peaceful water. It is quite challenging but so much fun :) Just look down, and once you see the tide pool, start climbing down on the rocky cliffs.

There is no sign that showes you where to get off the track or how to get there. The Tide pool can be reached only if you get off the paved trail.
